Bemidji finishes fourth at section meet
PARK RAPIDS – Sara Erickson scored 33.45 in the all around to lead the Bemidji High School gymnastics team to fourth place in Saturday’s Section 8A meet hosted by Park Rapids.
The Lumberjacks, who have been without the services of Amy Carey during the latter stages of the regular season because of an ankle injury, tallied 129.575. Perham won the section crown with 145.50 and Detroit Lakes was a very close second with 144.175.
Little Falls placed third with 131.675 and trailing the pack were Fergus Falls (125.025), Long Prairie (110.85), Park Rapids (98.1) and Frazee (97.675).
The top team and the top four individuals on each apparatus earned trips to the state meet. The Lumberjacks fell short in their bid to send an athlete to state.

Haley Gregg was eighth in the all around. She placed 10th on the vault (8.75), ninth on the bars (8.15), 20th on the beam (7.4) and 15th on the floor (8.275).
