Bemidji Fighting Skeeters win first game

DULUTH — The Bemidji semipro football team won its inaugural game Saturday as it defeated Duluth 34-26 in Duluth.

Blayze Peterson led the Fighting Skeeters with a pair of interception returns for touchdowns and a blocked punt that he returned for another score.

Peterson’s interception returns covered 92 and 93 yards.

Quarterback Marc Hummel ran for a pair of touchdowns, passed for 125 yards and had seven tackles.

Jason Bromm had 11 tackles and an interception.

Bemidji will make its home debut 7 p.m. Friday when it hosts Duluth in a rematch at Chet Anderson Stadium.
