Bemidji faces Sauk Rapids Tuesday in 8-3A elimination game
The Bemidji baseball team will play Sauk Rapids 4 p.m. Tuesday in the loser's bracket final of the Section 8-3A tournament.
The winner will face Alexandria at 7 p.m. in the championship series. If Alexandria loses, a rematch will be played 7 p.m. Wednesday.
All of the 8-3A tournament games are being played at the St. Cloud MAC baseball complex.
BHS was relegated to the loser's bracket after dropping a 7-3 decision to Alexandria late Saturday. In Saturday's earlier games Bemidji defeated Brainerd 10-6 in eight innings and Alexandria downed Sauk Rapids 16-10.
Sauk Rapids then eliminated Brainerd 5-2.
In the Alexandria game Bemidji scored first as Dom Hayle delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the second.
The Cardinals, however, bunched two doubles and three singles to score four in their half of the stanza.
Alexandria added a solo tally in the third.
