BEMIDJI – The dominance of the Lumberjacks swimming and diving team continued Tuesday when BHS blistered Warroad 127-59 at the high school pool.

Bemidji won all but two of the events and in seven of the races claimed the top two positions.

“The swimmers were asked to swim out of their usual events and they rose to the challenge,” said BHS assistant coach Kristen McRae. “We had many lifetime bests.

“The girls had fun, enjoyed the change and swam fast despite feeling very tired and sore because of our workout schedules,” McRae added.

A sign of what was to come surfaced in the initial race when the Jacks placed 1-2 in the 200 medley relay.

Leading the way was the foursome of Libby McRae, Lexie Hendricks, Amayah Littlewolf and Morgan Williams with a time of 2:07.46.

Steph Frey and Hendricks went 1-2 in the 200 individual medley with Frey winning in 2:20.47.

Erin Arndt won the 50 free (27.03), edging teammate Madi Knutson by only 0.46 seconds.

Kylei Grosfield took diving with 233.60 and Danielle Hoven claimed the 100 fly in 1:06.03.

Williams was the 100 free winner in 1:00.26 and McRae set the pace in the 500 free (5:50.39), edging Hoven by two seconds.

Hoven teamed with Jahner, Arndt and Frey to win the 200 free relay (1:46.12) while Jenna Hendricks, Williams, Knudson and Katie Krause were second (1:51.60).

Frey and Knutson went 1-2 in the 100 back with Frey dominating the race with a time of 1:06.53.

Bemidji ended the meet by capturing the top two spots in the 400 free relay. Jahner, Jamie Vanasse, Lexie Hendricks and Hoven took first with a time of 4:02.91.

Bemidji will take the weekend off and will return to the high school pool Sept. 25 for a dual with Park Rapids.
