Bemidji Minnesota P.O. Box 455 56619

BEMIDJI —The Bemidji City Council will hold a public hearing on its storm water pollution prevention program during its regular meeting 7 p.m. Monday.

The annual hearing is part of the city’s obligation outlined in the Clear Water Act, said city engineer Craig Gray.

The program’s accomplishments in 2012 included removing 160 cubic yards of material from drainage ditches, completing a 17-site plan review within the city and installing 16 storm structures with pollution control devices, according to a memo to the council from Gray.

The council will also receive a recommendation from Gray to award a $632,441 bid to Knife River Construction for the city’s 2013 municipal state aid milling and paving project.

The city plans on repaving parts of 15th Street Northwest, Roosevelt Road, Pioneer Street Southeast and Industrial Park Drive before Sept. 1. About $636,000 of the $760,000 price tag is coming from the state.

The public affairs committee’s recommendation to give Upstream TV, the local public access channel, $20,000 for equipment upgrades will come before the council Monday night. The money would come out of PEG fee revenues.
