Bemidji City Council: Lemmer applies for Ward 4 council seat

BEMIDJI – Linda Lemmer became the first person to apply for the vacant Ward 4 city council seat this week.
Lemmer ran for the at-large seat council seat in 2010 against Jim Thompson. She lost by 4 percentage points.
Lemmer was born and raised in Bemidji and is a graduate of Bemidji State University and the University of Wisconsin-Stout, according to her campaign website.
Lemmer worked for the state as a counselor for 24 years, according to the website.
The city council seat was vacated when Rita Albrecht won the race for mayor in the middle of her term in November. The council will hold a special meeting Jan. 28 to interview candidates.
