Bemidji City Council approves North Country Park name
The Bemidji City Council Monday afternoon unanimously approved two requests from the Parks Department in an efficient, 15-minute work session.
The council first adopted the name North Country Park for an undeveloped park along 30th Street Northwest between Ridgeway and Delton avenues.
The park was made possible due to conveyance of land from North Country Health Services.
The council approved the hiring of Freeburg & Grund Inc. Consulting Engineers, working with TKDA, to design and construct North Country Park. The cost for design and construction will be $70,980, plus about $51,920 that will be need at a later date for construction services.
The council also voted 6-0 to approve a liquor license for Blue Ox Bar and Grill, to be located at 128 First St. Drive S. in the former Union Station.
