Bemidji boys golf team continues its improvement

ST. CLOUD — The Bemidji High School boys golf team continued its steady improvement Thursday as the Lumberjacks shot 325 and finished 10th in the 20-team meet hosted by the St. Cloud Country Club.
Thursday’s meet was only the third competition for the Lumberjacks but they have trimmed eight shots off their team score during that span.
“We want to improve each week and in each tournament we have done that,” said BHS coach Seth Knudson. “We’ve only been outside for one week and many other teams have been outdoors for a month. But we’re moving in the right direction.”
“Our goal is to continue to improve and then see where we are at when the section tournament arrives (June 3),” the coach added.
Matt Gregg and Sam Starkey each shot 80 to lead Bemidji Thursday. Elliot Leinen finished at 81, Isac Bleser at 84, Ben Christopher at 85 and Sam Bruestle at 86.
Marshall won the meet with 305.
Bemidji continues it season today at Longbow near Walker and Saturday at Headwaters near Park Rapids.
