Karvakko Engineering of Bemidji has voluntarily joined ranks with Project EverGreen's SnowCare for Troops program, a community-based volunteer program.

Karvakko Engineering will participate with snowplow and landscape professionals from across the country, donating services and time for families in need.

"We're proud to support the SnowCare for Troops program and lend a hand to help our local military families who already carry so much on their shoulders, the last thing they should be worrying about is digging out after the next snowstorm," said Mike Karvakko of Karvakko Engineering said in a news release. "This is just one small way that we can say thank you for their dedication to country and military service."

Karvakko asks interested military families to register for participation in the SnowCare for Troops program by calling (218) 444-8004 or visiting online at www.projectevergreen.com/scft. Participation is limited.

Community members also can help by loaning snow removal equipment to volunteers or groups, and donating money, transportation or gas cards to offset snow removal and maintenance costs.
