"I am very excited about taking on the new role," said Wesely.

Wesely has 18 years of experience working in alternative education, prior to becoming the principal at Solway. She has spent 12 of those years working as an educator in the Bemidji Area Schools District.

"I am familiar with the alternative education programs," said Wesely. "My background in alternative education will be beneficial."

Wesely will begin the year by spending a portion of the day at each of the five alternative programs. She said her goal is to spend every afternoon at Solway Elementary School, but knows she will have to be flexible.

"The biggest challenge for me will be to coordinate my schedule so that I'm where I need to be when they need me," she said.

This will be Wesely's third year as principal at Solway Elementary School.

"Being the principal of so many entities will be a fun challenge," said Wesely. "I am very confident in the people who work at the alternative schools - the programs are very well organized."
