Bemidj HS boys hockey: Jakes lose on road to Otters
Fergus Falls scored two second period goals to hand Bemidji's Lumberjacks a 3-1 hockey setback Saturday afternoon at Fergus.
It was the third straight setback, for the Jacks who fell to 3-4. They host International Falls Tuesday at BSU in their final pre-holiday start.
Bemidji outshot the Otters 28-14 but could find the net only once. Jason Lofquist made 27 stops. Axel Osborn had 11 for the Jacks,.
Adam Hiefort scored both second period goals, the second on a power play.
Steve Heller cut the lead to a single goal midway through the third period but the Otters added an empty net goal in the closing 21 seconds to seal the win.
The JV continued unbeaten with a 9-2 win to reach 7-0. It also faces the Broncos Tuesday.
