BEMIDJI - The Bemidji Town & Country Club proved to be a true test during Monday's invitational hosted by the Bemidji High School boys golf team.
The Lumberjacks carded only two rounds in the 70s, Trey Dale's 78 and Sam Bruestle's 78, and only Nick Forseberg of Staples-Motley was able to match par.
Moorhead took the team title at 310 while BHS was fifth at 327.
"This certainly wasn't our best round of the year," Bemidji coach Seth Knudson said. "Sometimes playing at home can be a negative factor, especially for the seniors who want to do so well.
"The good news is we now have 11 days off before our next meet," the coach continued. "The guys who may not have shot their best need to have short memories and be ready to come out strong and shoot better the next time."
Dale shot 41-37 to lead Bemidji's top team while Bruestle's 40-38-78 paced the second Lumberjacks squad.
Joining Dale with the Bemidji Blue team were Elliot Leinen (82), Zach Rickers (83), Sam Starkey (84), Kodi Crraft (86) and Jake Hoffman (92).
Completing the Bemidji White roster were Isaac Blesser (87), Bo Borowski (88), Ben Christopher (89), Matt Serratore (90) and Ben Hendricks (99).
Bemidji returns to action May 18 at Longbow in a meet hosted by Walker-Hackensack-Akeley.
