Beltrami GOP plan annual banquet

BEMIDJI - U.S. Senate candidate Kurt Bills will be the keynote speaker at the Beltrami County Republicans annual banquet Saturday.

Bills will be joined by Republican state lawmakers Sen. John Carlson, Rep. Dave Hancock and Rep. Larry Howes, endorsed 7th Congressional District candidate Lee Byberg and state senate candidate Dennis Moser.

U.S. Rep. Chip Cravaack, R-Minn., also is expecting to give a presentation during the banquet.

This fall, Bills will face Sen. Amy Klobuchar, DFLMinn., while Byberg will compete against Rep. Collin Peterson, DFL-Minn., for federal seats.

The event starts at 5 p.m. with a reception and silent auction at the Bemidji Eagles Club. It will be followed by a 6 p.m. dinner and program, expected to start between 6:30-7 p.m.
