Beltrami Electric adds online energy tracking service
Beltrami Electric Cooperative Inc. has launched MYMETER, a Web-based energy tracking service that provides members with daily energy usage information and tools for greater control over their electric bills.
MYMETER is a free online service that allows the more than 17,700 Beltrami Electric members to view their electricity usage on a daily basis. The tool is made possible because of the initial Automated Metering Infrastructure installed with the co-op's smart meters and is available as a link online at www.beltramielectric.com or via a direct link at mymeter.beltramilelectric.com.
"MYMETER is such a valuable tool as it provides our members with more information on their electrical use," said Beltrami Electric CEO/General Manager Lynette Nieuwsma. "The reality of the electric industry is that rates are going to increase over the next couple of years, so this is an important time for us to give our members the tools to help them understand and control their electrical usage."
A member registered with MYMETER can view daily and monthly energy use in an easy-to-read graphical format, compare energy use fluctuations to changes in temperature, compare their own energy use to the rest of the co-op's membership, set goals for reducing energy use and track the progress, and access tips to conserve energy.
Nieuwsma said Beltrami Electric is one of the first utilities in Minnesota to offer MYMETER to its members.
Beltrami Electric members can register by visiting www.beltramielectric.com and clicking on the MYMETER icon. Account numbers will be needed.
MYMETER program was developed by the St. Paul software development company Accelerated Innovations and has received two national new energy product awards.
