Beltrami District Court report for September 29

The following cases were heard between Sept. 10-20 by Beltrami District Judge John Melbye:

Loni Denise Sayers, 32, of Red Lake was sentenced for check forgery. She must serve 365 days in jail, 280 of which are stayed for two years. Credit for time served is 85 days.

She was placed on probation for two years and must pay a $500 fine.

Alicia Ann Rengel, 36, of Bemidji was sentenced for second-degree DWI. She must serve one year in jail, all of which is stayed for four years. Credit for time served is two days.

She was placed on probation for four years and must pay a $750 fine.

Julian Lee Benais, 28, of Red Lake was sentenced for fifth-degree drug possession. He must serve 85 days in jail; credit for time served is 85 days.

He was placed on five years probation, successful completion of which will result in a misdemeanor conviction, and he must pay a $1,000 fine.

Mark Daniel Cree, 28, of Cass Lake was sentenced for theft of a motor vehicle. He must serve 51 days in jail; credit for time served is 51 days.

He was placed on five years probation, successful completion of which will result in a misdemeanor conviction, and he must pay a $1,000 fine.

The following cases were heard on Sept. 9-10 by Beltrami District Judge Paul Benshoof:

Christopher Lee Oakgrove, 39, of Bemidji was sentenced for fifth-degree drug possession. A sentence of one year and one month at the St. Cloud Correctional Facility was stayed for five years. He must serve 69 days in jail; credit for time served is 47 days.

He was placed on five years probation and must pay a $1,000 fine.

Lee Pratt Zitzer, 22, of Denver, Co., was sentenced for DWI-operate a motorboat under the influence of alcohol. He must serve 90 days in jail, 87 days of which are stayed for two years. Credit for time served is three days.

He was placed on two years probation and must pay a $500 fine.

Jason Lee Sampson, 29, of Bemidji was sentenced for fifth degree drug possession. He must serve one year and nine months at the St. Cloud Correctional Facility. Credit for time served is 195 days.

Kristen Alisabeth Winona Jones, 23, of Ponemah was sentenced for fifth-degree drug possession. She must serve 30 days in jail; credit for time served is 21 days.

She was placed on probation for five years, successful completion of which will result in a dismissal of the charge.

Casey James Anderson, 28, of Blackduck was sentenced for driving after cancellation.

He must serve three days in jail; credit for time served is three days. He was placed on two years probation, successful completion of which will result in the dismissal of the charge.

Orville Gene Decora, 45, of St. Louis Park was sentenced for domestic assault. He was placed on two years probation, ordered to pay a $500 fine and sentenced to one year jail time all of which is stayed two years.

Winona Sue Long, 24, of Red Lake was sentenced for misdemeanor obstructing legal process. She was placed on one year probation, ordered to pay a $300 fine. A 90 day jail sentence is stayed for one year.

Wayne Allen Maish, 38, Bemidji was sentenced for illegally selling walleye taken from the Red Lake Indian Reservation. He was placed on one year probation, ordered to pay a $300 fine and given a 30 day jail sentence which is stayed for one year.

Gregory Scott Powell, 49, of Bemidji was sentenced to 320 days in jail stayed for three years for third-degree DWI charges. He was placed on probation for three years and is given credit for two days served in jail.

The following cases were heard on Sept. 18 and 20 by Beltrami District Judge Shari R. Schluchter:

Ira Ray Mercurio-Keezer, 36, of Bemidji was sentenced to 325 days in jail, which is stayed for two years for domestic assault. Mercurio-Keezer was placed on two years probation and ordered to pay a $750 fine.

Jeffrey Reeves, 25, of Minneapolis was sentenced for domestic assault. He must serve one year in jail, 332 days of which are stayed two years. He is given credit for 22 days served. Reeves was placed on two years probation and ordered to pay a $750 fine.

Christopher Daniel Crew, 24, of Laporte was sentenced for domestic assault. He must serve one year in jail of which 335 days is stayed for two years. He was placed on two years probation and ordered to pay a $750 fine.

Gregory Robert Wright, 57, of Bemidji was sentenced for knowingly violating the predatory offender registry. He must serve one year and two months at the St. Cloud Correctional Facility. Credit for time served is 67 days.

John Eugene Drouillard, 42, of Cass Lake was sentenced for obstructing legal process. He must serve one year in jail of which 335 days are stayed two years. He is credited with four days time served. Drouillard was placed on two years probation and ordered to pay a $500 fine.

Nicole Rae Stillday, 28, of Red Lake was sentenced to 66 days in jail for a fifth-degree drug offense. She was placed on five years probation.

Falcon Mortell Walker, 30, Detroit, Mich., was sentenced to 81 days in jail for third-degree drug possession. Walker was given credit for 54 days served and placed on 20 years probation, successful completion of which will result in a misdemeanor conviction.

Misty Jo Oliver, 29, of Red Lake was sentenced to 355 days in jail, stayed for three years for third-degree DWI. She was placed on one year probation and given credit for two days time served. Oliver was ordered to pay a $750 fine.
