Sentencings

The following cases were heard on Oct. 7 and 14 by Beltrami District Judge Paul T. Benshoof:

Toni Mae Rushman (also known as Toni Mae Vernlund), 43, of Blackduck was sentenced for felony escape from custody to 12 months and one day imprisonment at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Shakopee which is stayed for five years. Rushman has been placed on supervised probation for five years and must pay a $300 fine. Community service was granted for the fine.

Chrystal Louise Payne, 34, of Bemidji was sentenced for theft to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 335 days is stayed for two years. Payne is credited for 5 days time served and may serve 30 days on work release. She has been placed on two years supervised probation and must pay a $300 fine.

Becky Lyn Stough, 34, of Bemidji was sentenced for theft to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 319 days is stayed for two years. Stough is credited for 46 days time served. She has been placed on two years supervised probation and must pay a $50 fine.

Andrew Francis Desjarlait, 46, of Gonvick was sentenced for driving after cancelation to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 350 days is stayed for two years. Desjarlait must serve 15 days and has been credited for three days time served. He has been placed on two years court probation and must pay a $500 fine.

Ralph Shane Imler, 46, of Rocky Mountain, Missouri was sentenced for third-degree driving while impaired to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 350 days is stayed for three years. Imler must serve 15 days, eligible for work release, and is credited for three days time served. He has been placed on three years court probation and must pay a $250 fine.

Tisheena Mae Lussier, 29, of Red Lake was sentenced for giving peace officer false name to 365 days in the Beltrami County Jail of which 350 days is stayed for two years. Lussier must serve 15 days. She has been placed on two years court probation and must pay a $300 fine.

John Joseph Waslaski, 39, of Bemidji was sentenced for felony receiving stolen property to 12 months and one day imprisonment at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud which is stayed for five years. Waslaski must serve 90 days in the Beltrami County Jail and was credited for 58 days time served. He was placed on five years supervised probation and must pay a $1,000 fine.
