Beltrami County prepares to set 2014 budget
BEMIDJI — Beltrami County administrator Kay Mack distributed budget books to commissioners at Tuesday’s county board meeting in preparation for setting the 2014 levy. Commissioners will be reviewing 2014 budget figures during the next two weeks.
The property tax levy is expected to remain the same for 2014 as it was the past two years: $17,486,013. In September, the board adopted the preliminary levy with an understanding that a balanced budget had been developed. Total expenditures budgeted for 2014 are $70,737.020, the tax levy covers 24.72 percent of that total.
A public hearing will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 3 to set the 2014 levy.
