Richardson will head up a special team of inspectors who will monitor boat accesses at Lake Bemidji, Big Turtle Lake, Lake Beltrami and Lake Irving.

Those interested in volunteering as an inspector/educator are encouraged to email Richardson at chris.richardson@live.bemidjistate.edu. Last year's volunteers will still need to attend a training session this year, the release said.

The AIS Initiative is a partnership between the Turtle River Watershed Association, Beltrami County, Friends of Lake Bemidji, Turtle Lake Township and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
