Beltrami County deputies injured in Sunday afternoon pursuit

Two Beltrami County Sheriff's Office deputies were treated and released Sunday for injuries they suffered in a pursuit.

The deputies were not identified.

According to a press release:

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office and Minnesota State Patrol responded to a call at about 3:45 p.m. to assist the Red Lake Police Department in a felony pursuit leaving the reservation on Irvine Avenue.

The suspect proceeded westbound on Lumberjack Road, southbound on state Highway 89, and then westbound on Mayflower Road.

The 22-year-old driver of the vehicle was apprehended after a foot pursuit when the suspect vehicle came to a stop off of Mayflower Road.

Two Beltrami County deputies were treated and released from North Country Regional Hospital for injuries resulting from the pursuit.

The suspect, who has not yet been charged, was arrested on warrants and suspicion of felony fleeing police, felony damage to property and assault on a police officer.
