Beltrami County Court Report for March 24

The following cases were heard by Beltrami County District Judge Paul Benshoof on March 18-19:

Joshua Alan Kroseng, 28, of Kelliher, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor emergency telephone communication interference.

He was sentenced to one year in jail, with 335 days stayed for two years. He is to serve 30 days, with 17 days credited for time served.

He was placed on supervised probation for two years. He must pay a $500 fine and $160 in fees.

Lola Rae Hegstrom, 30, of Redby, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor theft by check.

She was sentenced to one year in jail with 350 days stayed for two years. She must serve 15 days and was credited with one day already served.

She was placed on probation for two years. She must pay or work off a $300 fine and pay $160 in fees. She also must pay $52.34 in restitution.

Joseph Lee Guinn, 29, of Red Lake, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation inimical to public safety.

He was sentenced to one year in jail, with 320 days stayed for two years. He is to serve 45 days, with 22 days credit for time already served.

He was placed on probation for two years. He must pay a $200 fine and $160 in fees.

Amanda Marie Beach, 29, of Bemidji, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor second-degree DWI.

She was sentenced to one year in jail, with 275 days stayed for three years. She must serve 90 days on work release if eligible. She was given three days credit for time already served. She was placed on probation for three years. She will be granted furlough for treatment.

She must pay or work off a $750 fine and pay $185 in fees.

The following cases were heard by Beltrami County District Judge Shari Schluchter on March 15:

Kenneth Colter-Christian Luzius, 23, of Bemidji, was sentenced for felony fifth-degree drug possession.

He was sentenced to 15 months in prison, stayed for 10 years. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail.

He was placed on supervised probation for 10 years. He must pay a $1,000 fine and $160 in fees.
