Beltrami County Court Report for March 18
The following case was heard by Beltrami County District Judge John Melbye on March 12:
Christie Lorraine Rowe, 36, of Blackduck, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation-inimical to public safety.
She must serve one year of probation.
Kurt James Armstrong, 46, of Cass Lake was sentenced for felony fifth-degree controlled substance and gross misdemeanor third-degree DWI.
He must serve one year in jail, stayed for three years, three years of probation, undergo electronic alcohol home monitoring for 15 days and pay a $1,000 fine.
Kevin Michael Fairbanks, 53, of Deer River was sentenced for gross misdemeanor giving a peace officer a false name.
He must serve 10 days of a one-year jail sentence, stayed for two years, with four days credited for time served, two years of probation and pay a $500 fine.
Jonathan Thong Nguyen, 21, of Bemidji, pleaded guilty to felony fifth-degree controlled substances.
His next court appearance is set for April 23.
Michael Joseph Roy, 22, of Bemidji, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree assault of a peace officer and fourth-degree causing intentional damage.
His sentencing is set for April 2.
Rodney Thomas Morris, 43, of Bemidji, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation-inimical to public safety.
He must serve one year in jail, stayed for two years, two years of probation and pay a $500 fine.
Michelle Lee Pemberton, 37, of Bemidji, was sentenced March 12 for felony aiding an offender to avoid arrest and gross misdemeanor third-degree DWI.
She must serve one year in jail, stayed for three years, three years of supervised probation, complete a mental health assessment and pay $1,750 in fines.
The following case was handled by Beltrami County District Judge Shari Schluchter on March 6:
Nicole Lee Kramer, 28, of Bemidji was sentenced for issuing a dishonored check, theft by swindle, credit card fraud and check forgery, all felonies.
She must serve two years in prison, with 219 days credited for time served and pay $100 in fines.
Daniel Benjamin Fineday, 27, of Cass Lake, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor DWI.
He must serve 90 days of a one-year jail sentence, stayed for four years, with 28 days credited for time served, four years of probation and pay a $1,000 fine.
Robert Lee May, 33, of Red Lake, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor second-degree DWI.
He must serve 30 days of a one-year jail sentence, stayed for four years, with five days credited for time served, four years of probation and pay a $500 fine.
Timothy Joel Schulman, 30, of Bemidji, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor second-degree DWI.
He must serve 45 days of a one-year jail sentence, stayed for four years, four years of probation and pay a $1,000 fine.
Michael Lee Gregory, 33, of Shevlin, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation-inimical to public safety.
He must serve 10 days of a one-year jail sentenced, stayed for two years, with one day credited for time served, two years or probation and pay a $750 fine.
The following cases were handled by Beltrami County District Judge Paul Benshoof between March 5-9:
Verleen Yvonne Smith, 41, of Bemidji, was sentenced for felony fifth-degree controlled substance.
She must serve 30 days in jail, with two days credited for time served, five years of supervised probation and immediately complete a chemical assessment.
Ryan Joseph Cash, 25, Bemidji, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor domestic assault.
He must serve 36 days of a one-year jail sentence, stayed for two years, with 28 days credited for time served, two years of probation and pay a $500 fine.
Michael Scott Fisher, 30, Bemidji, pleaded guilty to felony to violating registration requirements as a predatory offender.
His sentencing is set for April 20.
