In Beltrami County District Court before Judge Paul Benshoof:

Christopher John Lunseth, 31, of Richfield, Minn., pleaded guilty and was sentenced Dec. 12 for gross misdemeanor second-degree DWI.

He must serve 30 days of a one-year jail sentence, pay a $500 fine and serve three years of probation.

Eric Brent King, 36, of Orr, Minn., pleaded guilty and was sentenced Dec. 12 for gross misdemeanor driving after cancelation inimical to public safety.

He must serve 49 days of a one-year jail sentence, with credit for 33 days served, pay a $500 fine and serve two years of probation.

Tammi Leigh Adams, 25, of Cass Lake, pleaded guilty and was sentenced Dec. 12 for felony theft.

She was sentenced to 30 days in jail, with credit for 12 days served, and must pay a $1,000 fine and serve five years of supervised probation. Successful completion of probation will result in a dismissal.

Angela Marie Tischman, 37, of Bemidji, pleaded guilty and was sentenced Dec. 12 for gross misdemeanor neglect of a child.

She received a stay of adjudication and must serve two years of probation.

In Beltrami County District Court before Judge Shari Schlucter:

Cody Michael Plaia, 21, of Tenstrike, pleaded guilty and was sentenced Dec. 5 for gross misdemeanor third-degree DWI.

He must serve 30 days of a one-year jail sentence, pay a $1,000 fine and serve three years of probation.

Jacob David Johns, 19, of Red Lake, pleaded guilty and was sentenced Dec. 5 for felony counterfeiting of currency.

He was sentenced to 48 months in prison and five years of supervised probation. He must pay a $1,000 fine.

John Michael Duffy, 43, of Anoka County Jail, pleaded guilty and was sentenced Dec. 7 for felony second-degree sale of drugs, amended from felony first-degree sale of drugs.

He was sentenced to 81 months in prison and must pay a $50 fine.

In Beltrami County District Court before Judge John Melbye:

Starla Marie Deane, 22, of Bemidji, pleaded guilty and was sentenced Dec. 1 for gross misdemeanor third-degree DWI.

She was sentenced to one year, all stayed, and must pay a $750 fine and serve three years of probation. Her sentence is consecutive to a separate conviction.

Steven Lawrence VanKauwenbergh, 32, of Bemidji, pleaded guilty and was sentenced Dec. 2 for felony theft and felony financial transaction card fraud.

He was sentenced to 17 months in prison on the theft charge and 19 months on the financial transaction card fraud. The sentences were stayed for five years on condition he serve 47 days in jail, serve five years of supervised probation, pay $500 of a $1,000 fine for each charge and have no contact with victims.

James Paul Aery, 27, of Bemidji, pleaded guilty Nov. 16 and was sentenced Nov. 29 for felony domestic assault.

He was sentenced to 60 months in prison, stayed for five years on condition he serve one year and 11 days in jail, with credit for 251 days served, serve five years of probation, have no contact with victim, not drink alcohol to access - never above .08 blood-alcohol content, and not consume alcohol with medication for which alcohol consumption is contraindicated.

An upward departure was sought in sentencing due to severe psychological impact on the victim.

April Marie Webster, 23, of Cass Lake, pleaded guilty and was sentenced Nov. 29 for gross misdemeanor criminal vehicular operation.

She must serve nine days of a one-year jail sentence, pay $500 of a $750 fine and serve four years of probation.
