Beltrami County Court Report for January 13

The following cases were heard by Beltrami County District Judge Paul Benshoof on Dec. 11:

Alexander Allen Gehlert, 21, of Kelliher, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor obstructing the legal process.
He was sentenced to one year in jail, with 355 days stayed for two years. He is to serve 10 days, with two days credited time served. He was placed on probation for two years. He must pay a $500 fine and $85 in fees.

The following cases were heard by Beltrami County District Judge Shari Schluchter:
Andrew Dale Oakgrove, 23, of Redby, was sentenced on Dec. 21 for felony theft of a motor vehicle.
He was sentenced to one year and one day in prison. That sentence is stayed for four years. He was sentenced to 55 days in jail, with 37 days credited time served. He was placed on probation for four years. He must pay a $1,000 fine and $155 in fees, with restitution reserved. Community service is granted for the fines.
Rick Allen Tompkins, 44, of Cass Lake, was sentenced on Dec. 19 for gross misdemeanor stalking.
He was sentenced to one year in jail, with 355 days stayed for two years. He is to serve 10 days with three days credited for time served. He is to have no contact with the victim. He was placed on probation for two years. He must pay a $500 fine and $160 in fees.
Joseph William Folstrom, 31, of Bemidji, was sentenced on Jan. 7 for felony assault in the third degree.
He was sentenced to 21 months in jail with three days credited for time served. He is to have no contact with the victim and was placed on probation for five years. He must pay a $1,000 fine and $160 in fees.

The following case was heard by Beltrami County District Judge John Melbye:
Richard Franklin Jackson, 22, of Bemidji was sentenced on Dec. 31 for felony drug possession in the fifith degree.
He was sentenced to 119 days in jail and was placed on 10 years probation. He must pay a $1,000 fine and $85 in fees.
