The following cases were heard Dec. 17 by Beltrami County District Court Judge Shari Schluchter:

-- Carolyn Annette Jones, 24, of Duluth, Minn., was sentenced for gross misdemeanor giving a peace officer a false name.

She was sentenced to one year in jail with 223 days stayed for two years. She must serve 142 days in jail and two years on probation. She must pay or work off a $300 fine and pay $85 in fees.

-- Melvin Charles Kingbird, 49, of Bayfield, Wis., was sentenced for gross misdemeanor domestic assault.

He was sentenced to one year in jail. He was given credit for 88 days already served. A $50 fine was stayed. He must pay $110 in fees.

-- Harry Samuel Desjarlait, 32, of Bemidji, was sentenced for felony aiding an offender to avoid arrest.

He was sentenced to 13 months in prison with the sentence stayed for four years. He must serve 58 days in jail and was given credit for 39 days served. He was placed on supervised probation for four years. He must pay a $500 fine and $160 in fees.

-- Darlene Marie Kembitskey, 30, of Bemidji, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor driving after cancelation inimical to public safety.

She was sentenced to one year in jail with 355 days stayed for one year. She must serve 10 days in jail and was placed on probation for two years. She must pay or work off a $500 fine and pay $85 in fees.

The following cases were heard Dec. 11-13 by Beltrami County District Court Judge Paul Benshoof:

-- Victor John Yerbich, 53, of Bemidji, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor driving after cancelation inimical to public safety.

He was sentenced to 91 days in jail with 89 days stayed for two years. He was given credit for two days already served and placed on probation for two years. He must pay a $350 fine and $160 in fees.

-- Andrew Dennis Leitch, 29, of Laporte, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor second-degree DWI.

He was sentenced to one year in jail with 275 days stayed for two years. He must serve 90 days in jail and was given credit for four days served. He was placed on probation for two years. he must pay or work off a $750 fine and pay $183 in fees.

-- Wiley Nash Tschida, 19, of Bemidji, was sentenced for felony second-degree burglary of a dwelling.

He was sentenced to 18 months in prison with the sentence stayed for 10 years. He must serve 150 days in jail and was given credit for 31 days served. He was placed on supervised probation for 10 years and must pay a $1,000 fine and $160 in fees.

-- Sharon Marie Dudley, 35, of Cottonwood, Minn., was sentenced for felony theft. She was given a statutory stay of imposition; successful completion of probation will result in a misdemeanor conviction.

She was sentenced to serve 15 days through Sentence to Serve and placed on supervised probation for five years. She must pay or work off a $1,000 fine and pay $160 in fees.
