Applicants have been narrowed to three finalists: Kay Mack, the interim administrator and Beltrami County auditor/treasurer, Thomas Johnson, a public works director in Colorado, and former Albertville city administrator Larry Kruse.

The county is nearing its selection to replace Tony Murphy, who held the administrator position for more than 10 years before resigning last spring.

The update is planned during the regular board meeting, which begins at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the board room of the Beltrami County Administration Building.

In addition, commissioners will discuss:

-- The third reading of its 911 ordinance, which addresses numerous items, including special assessment funds and administration of the money, road and private drive names and a policy to change names if signs are repeatedly vandalized.

-- Consider purchasing the Code Red emergency notification system, which provides citizens with instant notifications regarding evacuations, crime, hazardous material spills, weather and other emergencies.

Prior to the regular meeting, commissioners will gather at 3 p.m. for a work session. Sheriff Phil Hodapp plans to provide an update about restructuring within the investigations division of his department and plans to restore a sergeant/investigator to the division next year.
