Bella Tronnes, 101, of Bemidji, MN died Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji with Pastor Linnea Papke-Larson officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Bemidji.
Bella Calma Tronnes was born October 2, 1912 in Buzzle Township, Beltrami County, Minnesota to Halvor and Helena Tronnes. She grew up and attended grade school in Buzzle through the 8th grade. She remained on the family farm until she moved to Bemidji in 1945. She worked at 3rd Street Caf, Lakeview Caf and then the Turtle Club. Bella would eventually own and operate the Turtle Club retiring in 1974. Bella was passionate about flowers and cooking. She also was a talented seamstress who enjoyed crocheting and embroidery.
She is survived by daughter, Darlene Benson of Bemidji; 3 grandchildren Skip (Linda) Benson of St. Michael, Brad (Eunice) Benson of San Antonio, TX and Janet Benson of North Hollywood, CA; 4 great grandchildren Krista, Afton, Derek and Erin; 5 great-great-grandchildren Alexa, Hailey, Bella, Arlo and Milly; special nieces Karen Moller, Helene Gesell, Linda Philp and nephew Wayne Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Keith Benson; brother Hjalmer Bakken; 6 sisters, Thora Bakken, Helga Bakken, Ottena Tverberg, Hannah Bird, Ragna Philp and Alice Johnson.
