Beavers settle for tie after Robert Morris rallies from two goals down
Robert Morris rallied from two goals behind and scored twice in the second period Sunday to earn a 3-3 tie with first-place Bemidji State in College Hockey America men's action at Moon Township, Pa.
The decision gave the Colonials three out a possible four points on the weekend. RMU won Saturday's series opener 3-0.
Bemidji State will remain out east this week leading up to a Thursday-Friday series at Niagara in what could determine the CHA regular-season title.
The Beavers took a 2-0 lead Sunday on first-period goals by Ryan Cramer and Travis Winter. After a Colonial goal late in the first, BSU's Chris McKelvie restored the two-goal lead early in the second.
But the Beavers couldn't hold it, and after a scoreless third period and overtime, they had to settle for a single point on the weekend. Bemidji is 13-14-1 overall and 9-4-1 in league play.
