BEMIDJI — USA Football Network, Inc. announced its 26th USA College Football Division II Pre-Season All-American Teams, and three Bemidji State seniors got All-America honors.

Scott Christensen, Dan Kiebler and J.J. Reinke — all members of the BSU defensive unit — were named to Preseason All-America lists this week.

Christensen and Kiebler were honored as USA College Football Division II Pre-Season All-American Third Team Defense selections, while Reinke was named honorable mention.

Christensen, a safety from Stockbridge, Ga., started all 11 games in 2013 and had a team-high 95 tackles, ranking eighth in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and first among all NSIC defensive backs. He was also an All-NSIC Second Team Defense selection.

Kiebler, a defensive lineman from Franklin Park, Ill., was also all NSIC second-team and finished with 43 tackles (14 solo), first on the BSU line. He also had 3.5 sacks to tie for second on the BSU team.

Reinke, another defensive lineman from New Prague, was an All-NSIC Honorable Mention. He totaled a career-high 29 tackles (11 solo) with a tackle for loss, a pass break-up and fumble recovery.

The 2014 season officially begins August 13 when players report for camp. The first official practice is slated to take place August 14.

BSU’s first game is set for Sept. 6 at Wayne State.
