Beavers men's basketball team earns tournament bid, No. 3 seed
The Bemidji State University men's basketball team will play St. Cloud State University in the NCAA Division II Central Region tournament at 1 p.m. Central Standard Time Saturday.
The Beavers (22-8) received an at-large bid to the tournament and are the No. 3 seed in the regional, which will be played in Golden, Colo.
The tournament bid Sunday evening marks the second time in program history BSU has been selected to the NCAA tournament.
The Beavers, which won the regular season Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, will be joined at the regional tournament by four other NSIC teams.
This year, BSU has set a program record for wins in a season with 22. The Beavers' previous NCAA tournament appearance came in 2004, when the team had an at-large bid and the No. 7 seed.
SCSU (19-8) have lost three straight heading into the NCAA tournament, but defeated the Beavers 72-70 when the teams met in Bemidji earlier this season.
