Beavers: Men's basketball, golf hold annual fundraising scrambles
BEMIDJI — The sixth annual BSU men’s basketball alumni and friends golf outing will be Friday at Blueberry Pines Golf Course near Menahga and everyone is welcome to participate.
Originally created as an alumni gathering for the BSU men’s basketball players, the tournament has evolved into a fundraiser for the program. Organizing the event are former players Dan Christenson and John Phillips.
The tournament, which begins at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start, follows a two-person scramble format and registration is $100 per golfer. The fee includes 18 holes of golf, a cart with GPS, dinner, a gift and the opportunity to win door prizes. The registration deadline is Wednesday.

Sauer Memorial is Aug. 23
Area golfers can also participate in the seventh annual Ed Sauer Memorial tournament Aug. 23 at Tianna Country Club in Walker.
The event is a fundraiser for the BSU men’s golf program and will start at 11 a.m. The Sauer tournament is a four-person scramble and the $100 registration fee includes golf, cart, dinner and door prizes.
