The Beavers fell twice to St. Cloud State Saturday, losing 7-1 and 3-1.

In the first game, sophomore first baseman Jeff Schaper of Bemidji plated BSU's only run with a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the sixth.

In the nightcap, junior Doug Peterson drove in the Beavers' only run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth. BSU held St. Cloud's potent offense to three runs.

The Beavers and Minnesota State will conclude their four-game series Wednesday with a twin bill starting at 1 p.m.

The games will serve as the final trip to the Metrodome for BSU.

Tennis

The Bemidji State women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to Minnesota-Duluth on Sunday at the Gillett Recreation-Fitness Center.

Cheyanne Maki and Farrah Steinke teamed up for an 8-4 victory at the No. 2 doubles spot and Kelli Christiansen and Miranda Milless topped the Bulldogs' No. 3 doubles team 8-4 for the BSU wins.

The Beavers take a 1-2 record into today's match against Montana State-Billings at Sartell, Minn.
