Beaver women to open WCHA playoffs Friday at Grand Forks
The Bemidji State women's hockey team will travel to North Dakota for the first round of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) playoffs. Bemidji State will be the sixth seed in the WCHA playoff bracket and North Dakota is the third seed. The series will be a best-of-three format beginning at 2:37 p.m. Friday at Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks. The second game of the series is set for 2:37 p.m. Saturday, and if needed, a third game will be played at 2:37 p.m. Sunday.
The series will be a rematch of last season's first-round playoff series between UND and BSU. North Dakota won the chance to move on to the WCHA Final Face-off as Monique Lamoureux-Kolls found the net in overtime of the third game in an epic series between the two teams. North Dakota leads the season series 3-1-0. However, BSU captured a 3-2 upset victory over then-No. 6 UND Nov. 26 at Sanford Center.
