Battle River Beavers 4-H News

Meeting called to order by Pres. Rhonda at 11:15 a.m. Roll call taken with nine members, two leaders, six visitors. No minutes from Sept meeting. Tres report giving by Jane. We are starting out with $26. Motion to accept by Renae, second by Michaela. passed.

Old business

Jane thanked every one for a great year. Had positive feed back on different event that we helped with. Had a report on a member that helps with a church event and how 4-H has taught her to do as she sees need to be done and does not need to be told what to do. We turned in record to be judged.

New business

Welcome to the new year year! New Officers elected today. President Rhonda, President Elect, Christina, Secretary/ Reporter Michaela, Treasurer Renae, County Council Jane, First State Bank Of Bigfork, Kelliher location will be our bank. Congratulations to the new officers of Battle River Beavers.

Enrollment is online @ 4hOline.com if you need help ask Jane. Halloween Carnival Oct. 31 at school. We are doing 4 fun activities. 4-H awards banquet is Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. We are bring coffee and coolaide. Jane is going if you need a ride.

We are selling photos at parent/teacher conferences Nov. 17 and 21 from 3:30-7-ish. Also will have gift bags for sale. need to get photos to Jane or bring to school Nov. 17.

We have decided to get new t-shirts, Now need to vote on what we want! Tye dye or Jane would like a short story wrote up on 4-H adventures you had this year. We discussed Christmas party, Because it will be here before we know it.

Swanson family served a wonderful lunch Nov. 19 at 11 a.m. at the Troy and Kelly Hanks residence will be our next meeting. You may still join us if you would like.

We had wonderful opportunities happen this year. I would like to share a few.

A first year member writes: "4-H horse program helped me over come my fear of horses by teaching and helping me work with horses. I also like spending time with my friends at 4-H".

A first year member had a very wonderful year in the beef project. He won a blue ribbon, Junior Showmanship and went to Northeast Livestock plus had other projects as well.

A first year member went to state fair with her photography.

A member who has been in 4-H six years tried out the beef project this year and found new opportunities, learning experiences, friends and had a whole new world open to her. she did a wonderful job with it all. We are proud of you all!

So as you see there are are many opportunities awaiting you in the 4-H program if you choose to open the way.
