Baseball team slips to 10th in region poll
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Bemidji State University baseball team dropped one spot to No. 10 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Central Regional poll Tuesday.
Ranked No. 9 last week, the Beavers are 12-10 overall and 5-3 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. BSU is tied for fifth in the league standings after going 2-2 last weekend in the home openers against Minnesota Duluth.
St. Cloud leads the poll while Minnesota State is second.
Menton NSIC Golfer of Week
BEMIDJI - Danny Menton led the Bemidji State men's golf team to a second-place finish at the Wayne State Spring Invitational which was played Sunday and Monday.
Tuesday the senior was honored by being named the NSIC Golfer of the Week.
Menton posted the tournament's low round 68 (-4) Sunday and captured medalist honors completing the event as the only player under par with a 141 (-3). The round of 68 is the second lowest round this season in the NSIC.
The Beavers posted a team score of 598 (+22) to tie Minnesota State for second place in the seven-team-field, which included six NSIC-member teams.
