Barbara Ann Freeman
Barbara Ann Freeman, 71, of Blackduck, Minnesota and formerly of Seattle, Washington and Winchester, Idaho, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the Tender Hearts Assisted Living in Blackduck. Barb was born on April 30, 1942 at Fosston, Minnesota, the daughter of Vincent and Myrtle (Enstad) Johnson. She was raised in Bemidji and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1962. Barb went on to attend Bemidji State University for a year and then the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, studying English Literature. She worked for IDS in Minneapolis, and later operated her own business in Seattle, Washington named "The Letter Box" and retired from there in 2004. She also worked as an office manager for Merc in Seattle and later retired in Winchester. Barb was a very intelligent person, was witty and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed reading, loved her dogs, doing business in Seattle, and going camping, especially at the ocean. Barb will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who shared in her life.
Barb is survived by her 3 step-children, Timothy (Barb) Freeman of Blackduck, MN, Terri (Dan) Mjolsness, of Bovey, MN, and Tom (Mauro) Freeman of Ghent, Belgium; 3 sisters Kay (Donovan) Hoffman of Park Rapids, MN, Judy (Larry) Trueman Shoreham, NY, and Linda (Karl) Kendall of Marshall, MI; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives; and her special friends at Tender Hearts, Darlene, Sarah, Polly and Sarah. Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Duane who died March 13, 2012; and her parents, Vince and Myrtle.
The memorial service for Barb Ann Freeman will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Cease Funeral Home in Blackduck, MN, with Rev. John Yingling, officiating. Visitation will be for one hour before the funeral.
