Bagley will battle Thief River Falls at 7 p.m. today in the semifinals of the Section 8-2A boys basketball tournament at Crookston High School. Today's other semifinal sees Pequot Lakes facing Perham at Park Rapids.

Bagley is the top seed in the North Sub-Section while Thief River Falls is ranked second.

In the South, Perham holds the No. 1 seed and Pequot Lakes is ranked second.

The Flyers advanced to today's contest by stopping East Grand Forks 54-47 Saturday night in Bagley. TRF eliminated Crookston 55-44 in Saturday's other North Sub-Section game.

During the regular season Bagley (27-2) defeated Thief River Falls 78-64. The Prowlers improved to 20-7 with their win over Crookston.

"I think we've gotten better since the win over Thief River Falls and I know Thief River has gotten better," said Bagley coach Chuck Anderson. "I just hope that our improvement is exponential to theirs."

In the lower bracket, Perham (26-1) advanced by downing Hawley 65-59 in overtime on Saturday while Pequot Lakes (24-4) eliminated Pelican Rapids 65-61.

In early January Perham defeated Pequot Lakes 64-60.
