Axemen to hold tryouts in St. Paul
BEMIDJI -- The Bemidji Axemen indoor football team will hold its first public tryouts in St. Paul in late November.
Tryouts will be held Nov. 23-24 at the West Saint Paul Regional Athletics Center, officials said. Cost to tryout is $65 and includes a T-shirt. Participants must be age 18 or older and will be evaluated in the 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle, four-cone drill, standing broad jump, agility drills and position specific drills, as well as a seven-on-seven drill.
"This is our first opportunity to take a look at local talent and for football players throughout the region to come out and see if they have what it takes to play professional football," said Axemen head coach Robert Fuller in a press release. "This is one of the first steps for the coaching staff to assemble a winning team for Bemidji."
Bemidji is part of the Indoor Football League and will start play in February at the Sanford Center.
