Baroque Ensemble to perform

BEMIDJI — The Bemidji Baroque Ensemble Concert sponsored by BSU’s Department of Music is set for 7:30 p.m. Feb. 23 in Thompson Recital Hall in the Bangsberg Fine and Performing Arts Complex at BSU. The musicians will welcome guest artists, soprano Jennifer Olson and violinist Eric Olson, who are both doctoral candidates at the University of Minnesota. The program will include “Sonata for Flute in E Minor” by G.F. Handel; “Sonata for Violin in D Major” by J.M. LeClaire and “Three Arias for Soprano” and “Trio Sonata in C Major” by J. S. Bach.

Admission is free but parents are asked not to bring children younger than 6.

Art projects grants available

BEMIDJI — The Region 2 Arts Council has $13,415 in funds available for arts projects. The grants are open to any nonprofit organization, school, college or university, community education office, township, city, or county government located in Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Lake of the Woods and Mahnomen counties. Organizations can apply for grants up to $2,500. Applications are available at the Region 2 Arts Council Office, 426 Bemidji Ave., or at http//r2arts.org.
