Art Center to sponsor Art in the Park Festival July 21-22

The Bemidji Community Art Center will sponsor the 45th annual Art in the Park Fine Art and Craft Festival on July 21 and 22.

The event will host more than 100 artist vendors showcasing their ceramics, wood furniture and accessories, jewelry, glass, paintings, sculpture, fabrics and weaving.

According to a BCAC press release, this year will also be a transitional year, as the group moves from the Carnegie Building to the former Lakeside Lueken's Grocery, located at 505 Bemidji Avenue.

The BCAC has been working with a local project manager, a real estate agent as well as the owners of the property. The Northwest Minnesota Foundation has been a key partner in preparing for the transition.

BCAC President Lorie Yourd said the new space would allow for more gallery, classroom and meeting space as well as a parking area.
