Area United Way sets annual celebration

The United Way of Bemidji Area will celebrate its 25th anniversary at its yearly Victory Dinner next week.

The celebration includes a 5:30 p.m. social, 6 p.m. dinner and 7 p.m. program on Jan. 31 at the Sanford Center.

Event tickets are $22 per person or $175 for a table of eight. Reservations can be made by calling the United Way of Bemidji office at 444-8929.

Individuals, businesses, and organizations will be recognized for their support of the United Way.

That evening, the organization plans to conduct its annual meeting, which is open to the public.

The 2011 campaign total will be revealed during the program, and last year's accomplishments will be highlighted.

United Way of Bemidji Area volunteers spell out the total raised in the 2012 campaign in the red-and-black style of Paul Bunyan, whose 75th birthday was celebrated all year in 2012. The $406,248.62 in funds raised exceeded the goal of $405,000.
