The Bagley-Fosston cross country team will host its annual invitational today beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Among the Flyers expected to do well in the meet is Wesley Davies who has led Bagley-Fosston in each of its meets so far.

Last week at Wadena Davies was seventh individually while the Flyers were eighth. Davies finished in 18:10 while Roman Bode was 44th (20:41). Other Bagley-Fosston finishers were Chris Non (21:09), Brady Anderson (22:27), K.J. Kubiak (22:33), Jared Brinkman (22:42) and Tim Swanson (22:44).

At the Bemidji Invitational earlier this month at Greenwood Golf Course B-F was fourth. Davies finished second individually in 17:55. Last week at Warroad the Flyers were fifth in the seven-team field. Davies was the overall winner with a time of 17:09.

The Flyers are competing with an incomplete team in the girls division. Marissa Carlson is the lone varsity runner and at Wadena she placed 12th in 17:16. At Bemidji Carlson was eighth in 17:17 and at Warroad she was fifth with a time of 17:09.

Bagley dropped a pair of decisions last week, losing to Ada-Borup 3-0 and to Lake Park Audubon 25-11, 25-23, 19-25, 25-16.

Kari Skersick had six kills and two blocks in the match against LPA while Andrea Hood had five aces and 17 assists and Sierra Spray 17 digs.

Red Lake went 2-1 last week, stopping Bug O Nay Ge Shig 25-18, 20-25, 25-15, 25-14, sweeping Nay Ah Shing 25-17, 25-21, 25-22 but losing to Cass Lake-Bena 25-15, 25-23, 25-7.

Marissa Wind had nine aces against Bug O Nay Ge Shig. In the match with Nay Ah Shing Faleisha Desjarlait had 11 aces and Tatianna McClain served six straight points in the third set. Mari Cobeanis had four aces and a serve percentage of 90 percent against Cass Lake-Bena.

In other volleyball action last week Blackduck defeated Laporte 23-25, 25-20, 25-18, 13-25, 15-13 and lost to Bigfork 25-23, 25-16, 25-12 and Kelliher-Northome defeated Indus 3-0 and Bug O Nay Ge Shig 2-3.

Last Friday's area football action saw Cass Lake-Bena (0-3) lose to Pine River 39-20, Bagley (2-1) drop a 38-24 decision at Pillager, Blackduck (0-3) tumble 20-14 at Lake of the Woods, Kelliher-Northome (1-2) lose 37-14 to McGregor and Red Lake (0-1) lose 55-6 at Crosby-Ironton.
