Dean and Cassie Goossen to hold Source Point service
Source Point is excited to welcome back Dean and Cassie Goossen. Dean was formerly a part of the group Silverline. This young couple is on fire for God and ready to bring an inspiring message just for you Sept. 25 at 11am. A love offering for their ministry will be received.
Free childcare will be available for all ages.
Wednesday Nights at Zion
Zion Lutheran Church will be hosting Wednesday Nights at Zion beginning Sept. 28. Children/youth of all ages are invited to attend. Parents are welcome at any time. Parents/public are welcome to join for dinner and stay for the church service.
The schedule will be as follows: 4:30-4:45 p.m. , snack/opening; 4:45-5:30 p.m., Bible lesson; 5:30-6:00 p.m., game; from 6:-6:30p.m., dinner and from 6:30-7 p.m., church service.
Genetic discussion set
Discussion of the ELCA Genetics Social Statement and Churchwide Assembly Report held at New Salem Lutheran Church in Turtle River Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. Cookies and fellowship at 6:30 p.m. Lead by Headwaters Conference Assembly Voting Members Gary and Karen Coe.
Genetic engineering, genetic testing, genetic mapping from farming to medicine to addressing global hunger: Genetic Science has vast ranging impacts on today and well into the future. The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America has completed an extensive study of genetic science and offers to the discussion a social teaching statement to assist in deliberation of ethical and social issues.
The public is invited to a conversation introducing this social statement as well as a report on the 2011 ELCA Churchwide Assembly.
