Apartment complex damaged by fire

NORTHERN TOWNSHIP - An apartment fire in Northern Township caused about $12,500 in damage Monday afternoon.

The fire in the 4000 block of Supreme Court Northwest, reported at 3:31 p.m. by a neighbor, was initially fought by Beltrami County sheriff's deputies, who were the first on scene.

Bemidji firefighters arrived to find burnt siding on the apartment complex's south side.

According to a news release, the fire's origin is under investigation, but the blaze appears accidental.

Bemidji Ambulance Service also responded to the emergency call.
