Annie Alfreda Spargo
Annie Alfreda Schrader Spargo, 101 of Bemidji died Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji. Graveside Services will be 10:00 am Friday, October 11, 2013 at the Evergreen Northern Township Cemetery in Bemidji, MN with Pastor Doug Ferrier officiating. Visitation and lunch will follow at 11:00 am at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji.
Annie was born October 2, 1912 in Edina, MN the daughter of Alfreda Johnson Schrader and Henry Wilson Schrader. She had six siblings: Harold, Alice, Philip, Hubert, Irma and Blanche. She married James Spargo (also born on October 2) on October 2, 1933. Annie graduated from Central High School, Minneapolis, MN. In 1946 she and her husband left Minneapolis for Three Island Lake outside Bemidji, MN where they built a home. She graduated in 1965 from Bemidji State University with a degree in English and Spanish Education. She later taught in both Walker, MN and International Falls, MN. Annie is survived by daughters Carol Ann Pierskalla (William), Christine DeLaCruz (Jose), and son James Spargo (Karen Knox), seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Annie was the last of her siblings.
Annie Alfreda Schrader Spargo leaves a legacy of courage and devotion to family and faith. She will be missed by all who knew her and mourned by those who loved her. Memorials tributes should be sent in her name to Havenwood Care Center, Bemidji, MN.
