Annexation meeting between city, townships set
BEMIDJI — A special open meeting between the city of Bemidji, Bemidji Township and Northern Township is scheduled for Monday about the Orderly Annexation Agreement and the Joint Powers Agreement between the three parties.
The city of Bemidji and Bemidji Township are opponents in an ongoing lawsuit related to the agreements.
James Thomson, the attorney representing the city, said Wednesday that the meeting was requested by the judge handling the lawsuit at a Nov. 19 court appearance.
The meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. at the Bemidji Town Hall in Bemidji Township.
The meeting between the city and state Sen. Tom Saxhaug, DFL-Grand Rapids, that was previously scheduled for that time has been postponed until Dec. 16.
