Annabelle Marie Toftum, 93, of Bemidji, MN, died Monday, December 30, 2013, surrounded by her family at her home in Bemidji.

Committal services are pending in the spring at the Calvary Cemetery, in Bemidji, MN, under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

She was born on May 17, 1920, in Bemidji, MN, the daughter of Lloyd and Fern (Ross) Blish. She was raised and educated in Bemidji. She was a self taught musician who played many instruments, and would have loved to be a music teacher. She played with a Vaudeville group as a young lady. She married Merrell Lunder in 1940, and together they had 4 daughters. During WWII she moved west to Washington State and learned to be a welder, helping to support her growing family. She and Merrell played music entertaining all around the Bemidji area at supper clubs, including the Lake View and the Dutch Tavern. She and Merrell later divorced. She also worked for over 20 years at the Sniders Caf, and bartended in Nymore at the Corner Bar and the Beer Garden. She married Leslie L. Toftum of Bemidji. She was passionate about fishing both in the summer and the winter. She built her own fish house and spearing house, and would spend hours on Lake Bemidji in them. She loved animals, always feeding the birds before she fed herself, taking in strays from the neighborhood, and always having a dog to love. She enjoyed family reunions and loved to dress up in costume for each years different theme.

She is survived by:Daughters,Patricia Ann (William) Cloose of Bemidji,Rebecca (Harold) Fee of Harwood, ND,Elizabeth (Gordon) Rich of Eatonville, WA,Mary (Richard) Kirkus of Marysville, WA,Brother, Fred Blish of Everett, WA,

8 Grandchildren, 9 Great-Grandchildren, and 6 Great-Great Grandchildren. Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Clyde Blish, John Blish, Eddie Blish, sisters Marjorie Campbell, Dorothy Lambert, Evangeline Locke, a Grandchild, and a Great-Grandchild.
