Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 13, 2014 at 1:30 P.M. at the Cease Funeral Home Chapel in Blackduck, MN with Fr. Jerry Rogers officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service. Cease Family Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tonya Person, Tammy Tickel, Michele Dreyer, Heather Benson, Alicia Prahm, Ryan Dreyer, Ryan Majkrzak, Mike Dreyer, Matt Dreyer, Josh Dreyer and Reese Dreyer.

She was born November 29, 1926 in Melrose, MN to Michael Joseph and Julia (Meyer) Gillitzer. During her childhood, the family moved to Blackduck where she attended school and helped on the family farm. She married Herbert Dreyer on August 2, 1947 in International Falls, MN. They lived in Blackduck from 1947-1952 then moved to Minneapolis where they lived until 1958. From there, they moved to Bloomington until 1977 then moved back to Blackduck where she resided until November 2013.

She worked as an inspector for Honeywell Corporation in the late 1950s in Minneapolis. In the early 1960s -mid-70s, she worked as a supervisor at the Opportunity Workshop in Richfield, MN. She handled the Crops program for the Blackduck area and was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was a dedicated caregiver to her husband for over 30 years and a wonderful mother of four. She loved playing cards, puzzles, pulling tabs, Bingo, embroidery, sewing sequin calendars. She also enjoyed her afternoons with friends at the American Legion and didnt turn down an opportunity to Polka in her younger years.

She is survived by her children, Ronald (Kathy) Dreyer of Bemidji, Russell (Connie) Dreyer of Pelican Rapids, MN, Judith (Stan) Runyan of Mesa, AZ and Keith (Melissa) Dreyer of Wilton, MN. She had 11 Grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Julia Gillitzer; her husband, Herbert "Johnny" Dreyer; a sister, Dorene Saunders and two brothers, Arnold and Herbert Gillitzer.
