Anna Lois Knaeble-Maupin, 74, of Northome, Minn., died Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Calvary Covenant Church in Northome, with the Rev. Onni Putikka officiating. A visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Cease Family Funeral Home in Blackduck and one hour prior to the service at the church. A burial of cremated remains will be in Bergville Cemetery in Ardenhurst Township.
The pallbearers will be Ryan Harrison, Brady Knaeble, Matthew Knaeble, Adam Knaeble, Darren Romans, John Hogan, Walter Czarneski III, Jared Czarneski, Steven Huhtala, Scott Huhtala, and Amanda Harrison.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Ardenhurst Homemakers Club.
She was born Dec. 2, 1934, to Henry and Sylvia (Nuorala) Huhtala in Jacobson, Minn. She graduated from high school in 1953. She attended college for nursing and graduated with a registered nurse degree in July 1956. She married Remi Knaeble on Nov. 24, 1957, in Grand Rapids, Minn. They moved to Northome in 1963. They had four children. They owned and operated a small engine repair shop and a laundromat in Northome. She worked at the Northome Healthcare Center for 30 years. Remi died in 1969, and she was alone until she married Bill Maupin in October 1983. After their retirement, they traveled throughout the United States. Bill died in May 2003. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and her flowers. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and friends.
She is survived by her children, Alan H. (Tracy) Knaeble of South Haven, Minn., Alex R. (Lisa) Knaeble of Zimmerman, Minn., Raeanne M. Knaeble of Northome and Ruth L. (Walter Jr.) Czarneski of Shelton, Conn.; seven grandchildren; a great- grandchild; step-daughters, Janine (Gordon) Bowers of Dora Lake, Minn., and Devona Jensen of Longmont, Colo.; four step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Remi; second husband, Bill and her brother, Arthur Huhtala.
