Angeline Agnes Pavek was born the daughter of John W. and Mary (Adams) Pavek on Jan. 25, 1923 in Waubun. Angie, along with her nine brothers and sisters, was raised on a farm southeast of Waubun. She went to school in Waubun, graduating with the class of 1942. Angie attended Bemidji State University and later worked as a cashier for Blanding Department Store in Detroit Lakes.

On June 29, 1950 Angie married Edwin Blomseth and the couple made their home in Mahnomen. Angie worked as a bookkeeper for B.C. and later for Solar Gas Company, both in Mahnomen. In the early 1960s, she became employed with Mahnomen County Human Services as a social caseworker. She continued in this position until her retirement in 1989.

After Ed's death in 1992, Angie remained in her own home until 2007, when failing health caused her to move to the Mahnomen Health Center Nursing Home.

Angie was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Mahnomen and was a member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters-Mahnomen Court 342. She loved being outdoors and in her younger years especially, enjoyed golfing and snowmobiling. Angie was a talented gardener who doted on her flowers. She had beautiful gardens in the summer, but tenderly cared for her flowers all year round.

Angie was a beloved sister and aunt. She loved to visit with her dear family and many friends.

She is survived by three brothers, Edward J. (Dolores) Pavek of Fertile, Minn., Bernard (Therese) Pavek of Wadena, and Lloyd (Marilyn) Pavek of Waubun; three sisters, Beatrice Steinmetz of Plymouth, Minn., Bernice Leier of Rugby, N.D., and Patty Wander of Detroit Lakes; a sister-in-law, Barbara Pavek of Detroit Lakes; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Angie in death were her parents; husband Edwin; and three brothers, Leonard, Anthony and John.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Mahnomen, with a Rosary at 1:15 p.m. The funeral services are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Michael's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Rick Lambert officiating.

Rick Pavek, Steve Leier, Ken Steinmetz, Steve Pavek, Rick Pavek and Greg Pavek will serve as pallbearers and the National Catholic Society of Foresters-Mahnomen Court 342 will be honorary bearers.

Interment will be in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Mahnomen. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Anderson-Mattson Funeral Home in Mahnomen. There is an online guestbook available at the Web site, www.andersonmattson.com.
