Roberts met Adams, who has been diagnosed with various medical conditions, at the Bemidji Jaycees’ Home, Sport and Travel Show and the two quickly bonded.

Roberts borrowed one of her wheelchairs and customized it with LED lighting, specially made foot pads and unique decals all over the chair as pay-it-forward gesture.

Roberts also took it a step further, getting special embroidery from Gary Zerott with Cool Threads and new colorful spokes from Zach Olson with The Bike Guy. Local resident Jean Schmidt made a fabric cover for the chair, as well.

Roberts also presented Adams with a special pink Sintec Audio embroidered team shirt and a free manicure and pedicure for Aliya and her mom, Anna.
